X is an element in a spatial arrangement: a table; an array of curious instruments each involving lenses and mirrors; a small white tag; the printed sentence “Each instruments has been modified following the principle that the exploration of tiny intervals requires an increase in the size of the tools employed”; X holds up one instrument after the other and looks through each; the image that appears on the surface of the table; the  alterations in light and disappearing depth of field; the recurrent perspective line and the cubist bird that is perched on it;  the interlocking of these elements; the dance of things.
